Shelley Moore

Founder and Director of DanceMoore Choreography

shelley_mooreShelley’s unique style and unquestionable industry success as a Contemporary teacher and choreographer has evolved from her NSW North Coast upbringing, her Bachelor of Dance/Bachelor of Education degree from UNSW, and her diverse performance and choreographic experience. This includes working with Melbourne-based company Chunky Move, prominent independent Australian choreographers such as Narelle Benjamin, numerous TV commercials and an impressive silver medal placing at the World Aerobics Championships.

With over 15 years experience as a sought after dance educator, Shelley’s clients include: Sydney Dance Company (Lyrical Dance Teacher), Australian Girls Choir (State Choreographer and International Tour Choreographer), REDed (Raw Energy Dance Education), RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) and many NSW primary and secondary schools. She is also an invited adjudicator for several major eisteddfods and a guest teacher at various dance studios, organisations and international workshop series including a recent special visit to Tahiti. In addition to this, Shelley delivers dance to regional and remote areas of Australia with the Girls from Oz program, working specifically with young Indigenous women and using the Performing Arts to connect, engage and empower.

On the competition circuit, Shelley’s DanceMoore Choreography solo and group routines are consistent in winning and placing at local and international dance competitions and her routines have featured regularly in the Sydney Eisteddfod Dance of Champions and televised nationwide. She has developed a very organic, athletic and technically-demanding Contemporary style, which challenges the dancer and enhances their strength, agility and performance quality.

Shelley is passionate about empowering dancers and dance teachers, and developed DanceMoore Choreography to satisfy this passion and the industry need.
